AAB Treasure Hunt Doha Qatar 2018

150 Treasure Hunters

32 teams

6 locations

10 hours

And one epic day!

Have you ever wanted to be on the Amazing Race?

Have you watched it and thought ‘hey, this would be fun …or rather ‘I would do so much better!’?

AAB Qatar gave residents a chance to feel the adrenaline rush of being on an Amazing Race for FREE. We zipped across Doha on the clock (minus, ofcourse, the time on the roads where we drove responsibly)! This might be one of the coolest annual experiences in Qatar ever.

The treasure hunt was spread across five recently renovated parks in Doha , in addition to theToyota/Lexus Showroom where we went hunting for hidden treasures. This event was held in conjunction with the Public Parks Department, Ministry of Municipality and Environment to show off their charmingly redone parks.

Each challenge included finishing a brain teaser or game, physical challenges (like a relay race, basketball hoops and building a flower box using pallets), and other aptitude tests (such as activities involving balloons, building a pyramid, using a compass, doing crosswords and testing our skills with remote control cars).

The treasures that we needed to find during each task were positive words such as friendship, solidarity, harmony, peace and love!

In the end, we had to have retrieved two keys with which we would unlock the final two challenges at the showroom. We were on the clock during each challenge with the parks and NOT during transit traveling between parks. This ensured that drivers kept to speed limits and were responsible and safe on the roads. We didn’t win but we would like to think we came very close 😉

<< is a great opportunity for friends to bond, colleagues to join forces and families to learn how to work together. I loved how well it was organized down to the smallest detail, efficiently executed at every stage and every step involved high quality materials and complex thinking. I take my hat off to the incredible team at AAB for pulling off such a well planned event that crossed all benchmarks. << is is one of the best experiences I have had in Qatar and I will definitely be doing it again next year! Participants need to drive a Toyota or Lexus on the day to take part. It is the perfect excuse to become friends with someone who owns one if you don't!😉 Prizes were given out to the top 3 teams (Qr 5,000 for 1st place, Qr 3,000 for 2nd and Qr 1,500 for 3rd) and each participant was given a celebratory medal to remember this day.

I was offered to test-drive a Toyota Prius at the annual AAB Treasure Hunt.

10 reasons I fell in love with the Toyota Prius:NewInDoha review 1) It is fun to drive! Not only is it slick and stylish but easy to drive.

2) The Prius is a great low-emissions family car! The Prius is now my favourite ‘green’ car. It is both Cheap to run and refined to drive.

3) The interior is spacious and roomy inside and there’s plenty of boot space which is very important to me.

4) The ride is very smooth. The only negative was the low suspension which looked great but was stressful on gravel uneven gravel roads or roads under construction!

5) It is a Hybrid car. The transition between electric and petrol power is near-silent! We were really pleased with how quiet it was in the cabin of the vehicle. Toyota’s new Dual Motor Drive allows the car to use the hybrid system’s generator as a second motor when extra power is needed.

6) The Prius has some sharp styling. With bold exterior accents , thin S-shaped LED tail-lamps and some impressive curves the Prius certainly makes a STATEMENT and turns heads.

7) The inside of the Prius is COOL and STYLISH. It has a very futuristic design. I am a gadget fan. I loved the digital display at the top of the dashboard. It shows everything from the speed and fuel economy to what’s going on with the car’s petrol-electric drive system. It is easy to glance at and is both edgy and seamless.

8) Keyless entry.

9) A radio, CD player, USB and Bluetooth! Everything I need ❤

10) SAFETY. With seven airbags, a comprehensive Safety Sense system and Park assist I felt safe. I loved the rear parking sensors that made parallel parking a breeze in some tight parking spots.

Verdict: Four ladies, 8 hours of driving around Doha in the car for the AAB Treasure Hunt, we were not only comfortable but enjoyed riding in style around Doha in our fun red Toyota Prius.
