Doha Food Review: Authentic Brazilian food has always been on my food bucket list & I was keen to discover what Brazilian food tasted like.
Ipanema is an authentic Brazilian restaurant located in the Marriott Marquis hotel, Westbay, the heart of Doha.
IPANEMA prides itself on their Churrascaria (pronounced shoe – ras – karia) style of preparing food. Churrascaria is distinctly a South American style rotisserie which owes its origins to the fireside roasts of the gaúchos of southern Brazil and has been roaring for centuries.
IPANEMA in keeping with the authentic theme has rodízio service. Passadores (meat waiters) come to your table with knives and a skewer, on which are speared various kinds of meat.
The HIGHLIGHT:
Hands down the juicy pineapple rolled in sugar, cinnamon and vanilla, then grilled Churrascaria style and sliced thinly.
From the meat selection we enjoyed the succulent Lamb that was roasted to perfection and the chicken drumsticks.
Be sure to try on a Brazilian Carnival Samba headdress and pose for a picture!
My SUGGESTION:
I was disappointed that there was no signage to warn muslims that alcohol is used in the preparation of the Fruit Flambé. I was aware of this and hence queried it. The staff were accommodating and used a separate new pan and did not prepare my caramelised fruit dessert with any alcohol.

To SUM IT UP:
We are meat lovers and one needs to really love meat to fully enjoy this dinner. It is the perfect spot for a large crowd to have a relaxed interactive tasty dinner, enjoy a evening out and take some memorable Brazilian themed pictures. Our large group had a fun night out!
It is ALOT OF MEAT! But there is also a salad bar, sushi area and a vast selection of desserts available. Something for everyone!
The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful.

Valet Parking is available at the Marriott Marquis hotel.
The hotel is also accessible via the CITY CENTRE MALL. Walk to the end of the mall (Carrefour end) and go through the passageway near MAC cosmetics which leads to the hotel.
Ipanema is a laid-back Brazilian experience and makes for an interactive fun dinner.
