Exploring the Beauty of Oman: Travel Tips for Visitors from Qatar

•Oman offers an array of stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality.

Here are some essential @newindoha tips to make the most of your trip from Qatar to Oman.

Flights

•Daily direct flights are available from Hamad International Airport in Doha to Muscat International Airport. The flight duration is approximately 1.5 hours.

Time : 1 hour ahead of Doha. GMT +4

Visa

•We applied for an e-visa online before our trip on https://evisa.rop.gov.om/en/loginportal

•The process was easy and seamless. As a GCC resident it costed us QAR 50 (OMR5) for a visa

GCC residents of all professions can also enter the sultanate with a visa-on-arrival as long as the residence visa is valid for a period of no less than three months

Best Time to Visit?

•We were told that the best time to visit is between October and April when temperatures are milder. Summer is hot and temperatures reach the 40s similar to Qatar.

•Areas like Salalah are lush, cooler and green. Visit Salalah from the end of July till September.

Accommodation

•Oman offers a range of accommodation to suit different budgets. In Muscat, we stayed at the JW Marriott Muscat. A luxury destination in the city surrounded by a rich oasis of greenery and conveniently located near the Oman Exhibition and Conference Center.

Must-See Attractions

Explore the city. Visit the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, shop at the Mutrah Souq, visit the Royal Opera House and Wadi Tiwi.

Walk Al Hail promenade, visit Laguna restaurant for coffee at Sunset and pray at Al Hail Mosque.

Coming up… Discover JW Marriott Muscat this Eid.

Oman is the perfect weekend break from Qatar.
