Doha Food Review: Gelarto Rosa.

I love cosy unusual places and this is truly a gem. Situated in Porto Arabia Pearls, Gelarto Rosa – Doha serves a delicious rich and creamy rose shaped ice cream in a beautifully decorated store.

Their ice-cream is always freshly made, on the premises. Using the finest natural ingredients they are able to produce an authentic traditional Italian ice-cream. A special spatula is then used to craft a perfect ice-cream rose.

Their stores around the world are designed to make you feel like you have entered a 1950’s Tuscan grandmother’s house.

Gelarto Rosa is part of an independent chain of artisanal ice cream stores located in the heart of Budapest. Doha is lucky enough to have the first international Gelarto Rosa franchise.

Be sure to peep under the tables at the unusual antique sewing machines that have been converted into table bases or venture into the quaint room that is lined with book shelves and rich velvet couches. Discover beautiful decor which creates a wonderful ambiance and decadent yet artistic rose-shaped ice cream…what more can one ask for!

This gem is the perfect summer stop! Ideal as a spot to meet up, chill with family and friends or as a book club venue.

With their big fluffy couches, friendly welcoming staff and relaxed atmosphere this would be the perfect place to meet friends and catch up.

They only serve ice cream in their Doha branch.

We enjoyed 3 flavours of ice cream on a cone for Qar20. Sadly they do not have sugar wafer cones (my favourite!) but serve the ice cream on an ordinary cone or in a cup.
