The Throwback Food Festival is back for its third edition at Old Doha Port, bringing all the vibes of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s in one family-friendly celebration of Qatar’s culinary heritage 🇶🇦

The festival runs from 16 February until the end of Ramadan.

– Weekdays (Sun–Wed): 5:30 PM – 2:00 AM
– Weekends (Thu–Sat): 5:30 PM – 3:00 AM

Here’s what to expect:

– 30 participating vendors and restaurants, including selected vendors from across the Middle East

– Menus inspired by culinary traditions and flavours from past decades

– Live cooking experiences showcasing traditional recipes and preparation methods

– Cultural activations celebrating Qatari traditions and hospitality

– Traditional games and interactive entertainment inspired by earlier generations

– A dedicated traditional outdoor space where families can gather and enjoy classic television programmes and entertainment

– Dukkan — a recreation of the traditional neighbourhood shop reflecting everyday life in Qatar’s past

– Hakawati storytelling for kids, bringing history and local cuisine to life through stories

– Hakawati sessions daily at 9:00–9:30 PM and 10:00–10:30 PM

– Interactive competitions designed to engage visitors of all ages
