When Shanghai Danced, Love Bloomed
This August, Shanghai Me presents Love in Old Shanghai, a global celebration of love and Chinese heritage taking place across its London, Dubai and Doha locations on 19 August 2026.
Inspired by a romance unfolding in 1930s Shanghai, where East meets West, the experience captures the nostalgia, glamour and intrigue of the city’s golden era. Guests are invited to step back in time and celebrate love through limited-edition mocktails and a special dessert created exclusively for the occasion.
The activation is brought to life under the campaign tagline, “When Shanghai Danced, Love Bloomed.”
At the heart of the celebration is a pair of mocktails inspired by the ancient Chinese legend of Zhinü and Niulang, a timeless story of love, devotion and connection.
Zhinü, the Weaver Girl, represents the graceful and ethereal weaver of the heavens. Soft, floral and elegant, it carries a light and effervescent quality reminiscent of the stars she wove into the night sky.
Niulang, the Cowherd, represents the devoted and grounded cowherd. Bolder and warmer in character reflecting his strength, loyalty and steadfast devotion.

Both drinks share notes of almond, peach and pandan, creating a common thread between the two serves and symbolising the enduring connection between the legendary lovers. Guests may enjoy the drinks individually or side by side as a paired experience.
In Doha, mocktail versions available at QAR 45 and QAR 50.

Completing the celebration is a special Chocolate Fondant, created exclusively for the occasion and priced at QAR 75, offering a rich finale to the romantic experience.
Through Love in Old Shanghai, Shanghai Me invites guests to rediscover the romance of another era, where Eastern traditions met Western glamour and love unfolded beneath the lights of 1930s Shanghai.
