An authentic Brazilian restaurant that prides itself on their Churrascaria (pronounced shoe – ras – karia) style of preparing food. Churrascaria is distinctly a South American style rotisserie which owes its origins to the fireside roasts of the gaúchos of southern Brazil and has been roaring for centuries.
IPANEMA in keeping with the authentic theme has rodízio service. Passadores (meat waiters) come to your table with a skewer, on which are speared various kinds of meat. They only stop once you raise the red card
Everyone visits Ipanema for the unlimited meat BUT what gets me the most excited is their juicy pineapple rolled in sugar, cinnamon and vanilla (the secret ingredient ), then grilled Churrascaria style and sliced thinly.
The secret is to make sure to eat a slice of pineapple as a palette cleanser between the meats.
Everything we tried was so good. My favourites were the picanha, ribs, prawns, lamb that was roasted to perfection and the chicken drumsticks. The live taco station is a must-try. Be sure to pace yourself as the dessert area were impressive. My favourite was the soft sugared doughnuts
I get excited when brunch is not just a meal… it is an fun experience with a vibe! The live band is really good and there are Brazilian Carnival Samba head pieces to try on and pose for a picture!
We are meat lovers and one needs to really love meat. It is ALOT OF MEAT!
The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful.
