Ubuntu South African Heritage Day Event in Qatar 2018

Doha Golf Club, Friday 21st September from 16:00 to 23:00 and entrance is FREE!

Ubuntu translated means “I am because we are”

This is a community event. An event where we all come together and create a home away from home in Qatar.

This event is open to everyone in Qatar as we would love to showcase our South African heritage and culture to both the local and expat community.

South African Food

Braai (South African BBQ), South African Indian, Zulu and Xhosa cuisine, Pap, chakalaka, samp and beans, vetkoek and dumplings, Koeksisters, Chicken Pies, Mini Milktart, Date fingers, Bunny Chows, Boerewors rolls, Biltong & Droewors, South African sweets & chips, Peppermint Crisps, Fizzers, Rusks, Fudge, ‘Soentjie’ Cookies, Potjiekos, Milk tart, Cheesecake and much more will be available for sale at the event.

Activities

×Competition for Best South African dressed adults and kids- so come dressed up!

×There will be face painting, a photobooth, bouncy castles, activities, entertainment and the Nandos Mascot is coming to visit.

The official airline sponsor of the event, Qatar Airways has given 4 return tickets which will be given away in a lucky draw to lucky South Africans present at the draw.

Highlights

The event will run from 4pm to 11pm but I do recommend coming by 5.30pm as the main presentation will start at 6pm.

The Grandson of the Late Great Nelson Mandela, Mandla Mandela will be a guest at the event.

H.E Mr Faizel Moosa Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Qatar and Chief Mandla Mandela will say a few words around 6pm.

Location

The event will be held at the Doha Golf Club.
